Away fans' guide to histon

Welcome To Histon

Getting Here: Beware the A14! It is an absolute pig of a road, especially during the rush hour. So if you are visiting for an evening kick off you should allow yourself plenty of time. Saturdays aren't usually too bad.  There is no parking at the football club due to limited space.  There is dedicated parking within a short walk of the ground for a small charge. Check out this map  for details.

The ground is located just North of the A14 at J32. Southerners: come off the M11 at Girton J14 and follow A14 to Newmarket.  Northerners: stay on the A14, bearing West, to Newmarket before it turns into the M11.

If you have one of those posh sat nav things then the post code you need to enter is CB24 9PH.
For those getting the train, you will arrive at Cambridge Station.  The Citi 7 bus will take you directly to Histon and the bus ride is about half an hour.  Bus times to get your last train home are here.  Taxis are available at the station. Panther Taxis are the local big firm: 01223 715715.
Making a Weekend Of It: Why not bring the family too?  There is punting on the River Cam. There are several pubs and restaurants in the city. Favourites of mine for real ale are The Mitre, The Pickerel and The Castle (on Castle St, not Regent St). The old college and university buildings in Cambridge are a big attraction. King's College Chapel is well worth seeing. What city needs a cathedral when there is that? But if you want to see an ancient cathedral then Ely is just 30 mins up the road. There are small zoos at Shepreth and Linton, and there are good visitor centres at Wicken Fen  and Welney Wildfowl Centre .
