Away fans' guide to histon

Welcome To Histon
by FTM
Firstly, a very warm welcome to the villages of Histon and Impington and to Histon Football Club. We hope that you have a safe and hassle-free journey here.
A Bit Of History: Histon is located in East Anglia, between the cities of Cambridge and Ely. The village was home to Chivers, the jam manufacturers, and the railway line allowed thousands of jars of jam exported out all over the country. The village has an old village green and duck pond, several pubs and a fine butchers.
Refreshments: At the last count there were 6 pubs in the villages. Of these by far the nearest to the club is The Railway Vue . Away supporters coaches park here and the pub welcomes away fans.  They serve good real ale and a selection of lagers. They tend not to serve food on match days although they usually have a small selection of rolls.

Further North into the village of Histon are more pubs: The Boot, The Barley Mow, The King William IV, The Rose & Crown and The Red Lion (which does excellent real ales and has a large beer garden.)  These pubs are a ~15 minute walk from the ground.

Food: There is a Tesco Express in Histon and a fish & chip shop. There is also an Indian Restaurant. For those arriving by train, there is a Marks & Spencer food shop at Cambridge station.

In November the football club started up a carvery on Saturday match days. We went along to the first one and it was excellent.  There are various course deals and the prices are reasonable, the food is very good and it is warm and dry.  Away fans are welcomed unless segregation restrictions do not allow this. Please check the club website  in advance for booking details.
